League positions after race 9 - the Eastleigh 10K....
The Ladies A team were 8th in the A League but maintain 4th place in Division 1 of the A league behind Winchester, Stubbington and Lordshill. The Ladies B team were 5th team in the B League and move up one place to 3rd place in Division 1 of the B League behind Winchester B and C. The Ladies C team were 3rd team in Division 2 of the B League and stay in 4th place in Division 2 behind Pompey Joggers B, Totton B and Gosport B. The Men's A team were 1st team in Division 2 of the A League and stay in 4th place in Division 2 behind Farnham, Pompey Joggers and Fareham. The Men's B team were 8th team in Division 1 of the B League and move up to 8th place in Division 1. The Men's C team were 2nd team in Division 2 of the B League and move up three places to 4th place in Division 2 behind Lordshill D, Pompey Joggers C and Denmead C. Race 9 of 12 in the Hampshire Road Race League was held at the Hendy Ford Eastleigh 10K. Another good weather day for spring running and a flat course made for some fast times and many PB's for Hedgie runners.
Another great showing by Hedge End Running Club members ensured that that once again the club had full Men's and Ladies A, B & C teams in the HRRL with several members featuring in the teams for the first time. People who form part of the ‘athletics family’ are entitled to priority ticketing access for London 2017. The last reminder will shortly be sent so people who are not yet signed up should act now.
London 2017 will see both the IAAF and IPC World Athletics Championships being staged at the former Olympic Stadium in the biggest sporting event to be held there since the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Three sets of people are eligible for Priority Ticketing access as individuals - registered athletes, coaches, and officials (the latter needing to have a qualification and up to date DBS). Emails were sent to these people on 18 December, 26 January and 1 March. People who have received these mails but are not yet registered for the priority ticketing can use link they were sent in one of these emails. A final email giving sign-up details will be sent to these people shortly. If you believe you are eligible for priority ticketing but have not received an email it is likely that: (i) we have not got an accurate or current email for you on your profile on Trinity (ii) you have not opted in to receive communication from us on your ‘Subscription preferences’ (iii) the spam/ mail settings you have in place mean the emails have gone to your spam/ junk mail folder. If you have not received a mailing but would like to receive the final email about priority ticketing you should log in at www.englandathletics.org/myprofile. You can use the forgotten password functionality if needed. Once logged in check your email address is correct on your ‘Personal Details’ section and that you have opted to receive information from us in the Subscription Preferences section. Athletes should also check their registration is up to date, officials and coaches should check their DBS is up to date (if not a DBS can now be renewed online – see the link in the Personal Details section). If you have not seen the emails but are registered/ licensed, opted in and your email details are correct you should check their junk/ spam folder. You may also want to add the send addresses to your safe senders list/ address book. For coaches and officials this is coaches&[email protected]. For athletes this is [email protected]. In addition to this there was an email sent to club secretaries (or whoever is named as such on the club’s portal) on 11 February, with another scheduled for 18 March. giving clubs the chance to register 10 volunteers (including any who are not coaches or officials) for the pre-registration window. Given the Priority Ticketing is ‘closed’ to these specific groups links to register for it are not available on the website as this would mean them becoming open to everyone. Race 8 of 12 in the Hampshire Road Race League moved on to Salisbury for the City of Salisbury A & RC's 10 Mile road race. Perfect running weather conditions around a very scenic course made for a lovely morning's running.

Race 9 in the series is the Eastleigh 10K on Sunday the 20th of March 2016. A great final placing for Hedge End Running Club of 8th place overall for the 2015/16 season. As this league, and cross country racing in general, grow in popularity within the club, we hope to improve on this position next year. Special recognition goes to our lady runners, who achieved some wonderful results and certainly improved the overall combined Men's and Ladies Team results. Many thanks to Keith Sheppard for organising the teams and coordinating the results. Results of all 6 races and final league placings as below... The final race in the 2015/16 Southern Cross Country League was held on Sunday the 28th of February at the Royal School in Haslemere. Thanks to all runners and supporters that came along to this race.
The ladies came 6th, the men were 13th, with the team coming 8th out of 23 clubs overall. For the whole season, the team achieved a very respectable 8th place in the league over the six races this Winter. Well done to all who took part and represented the club in this, our third season in this league. Individual results were as follows.....
