Stefan loves a weird event and has taken the HERC colours all over the country and abroad. He is kind and encouraging to all, be it through his blog (www.slowbutstubborn.wordpress.com), his Facebook posts or in person. He’s even volunteered to lead a group of members for their first ultra marathon in October!
At the beginning of March, Stefan organised the Hedge End Scramble based on his orienteering adventures in France. This saw over 40 club members running around Hedge End with sodden maps in atrocious weather, but everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy it nonetheless.
To quote one of the members who nominated him: “Not only does Stefan enjoy his running along with the other lesser sports such as cycling and swimming that he partakes in, but he encourages everyone and sacrifices his time to make everyone else have fun – even those who couldn’t attend the scramble for various reasons had an enjoyable evening. I know from experience that it takes a huge amount of time to organise things like this.”
Very well deserved Stefan and thank you for all your hard work
