1 lap (approx. 4.8miles) grass and gravel paths in forest enclosure.  Muddy in parts.

Rules:
Please be considerate to other runners.  Do not impede other runners if warming down along the course.

I am a physiotherapist and PhD research fellow at the University of
Southampton conducting a study to understand the differences in young people with pain in the kneecap (patellofemoral pain) compared to healthy people with no history of knee pain.

Patellofemoral pain is a very common condition in running and we are
therefore looking to recruit local runners to our study as well as generally physically fit individuals that participate in structured exercise activity at least three times a week and are aged between 18-39 years.

We are hoping to obtain at least 30 people locally over a nine month period. Once the study is finished, I would be happy to come along and give a talk about our findings and how patellofemoral pain relates to
running, if any of your members are interested.

Dear All Members,

You are cordially invited to join together to form club teams for the annual Miles of Miles Relay, organised by Romsey Road Runners, to be held on Wednesday 3 July 2013 at 7.30pm at Southampton Sports Centre athletics track.

The format is a 10 leg relay over a 'metric mile' (4 consecutive laps for each runner) with teams from all of the local clubs. All teams need a minimum of two ladies, but an all ladies is also an option.

- Each club can enter as many teams of ten runners as they wish.
- At least two of each team must be female.
- Runners may only run once for a team.
- Each member of the team will run 1 metric mile (4 x 400m)
- Change overs must not be made in the inside two lanes.
- A Team has finished when all ten members complete their mile.
- Winning team is that with the fastest time and receives a cup.
- £10 donation to be made per team entered on the night.

This event is an excellent way for us to have some evening competitive fun. It would also be a great opportunity to experience track running.
