The Denmead 10km road race was organised for a number of years by the Portsmouth Joggers, but was cancelled last year due to traffic problems.
The Denmead Striders, with agreement of PJC, have designed an alternative course and are busy organising a race for the 19th October.
The course is brand new, located on the countryside lanes to the north of Denmead and should offer some scenic views over the South Downs.
Registration will open early May.
