The Committee is delighted to announce that we are moving to the Ageas Bowl.
We have become affiliated with Hampshire Cricket in the Community, a charity that aims to extend sporting involvement across the county. The Ageas Bowl already hosts Poseidon Boxing Club, and we have the opportunity to join them to promote health and well-being in the local area.
Our home will be the Arthur Holt pavilion - this is the old golf club house, overlooking the nursery ground. The pavilion has just been refurbished and will give us a permanent base for the future. Although we won't have exclusive use of the building, we will be able to use it as our very own club house on club nights. There are changing rooms and toilets in the pavilion.
Use of these facilities and being based at such a prestigious location will allow the club to move to another level in our development plan. We hope that this move will allow us to extend the club to Juniors - initially 15 to 17 years old, and set up other sub-clubs, similar to the Triathlon Club. Of course, we will also be able to use the bar in the atrium to socialise after training.
We're very grateful to Wildern School for the help that they've given us to get the club established and the school is very supportive of our move to the Ageas Bowl. We will continue to meet at the school as normal for the next couple of weeks and then start meeting at our new clubhouse from the 2nd of March.
For any further information about the move, please feel free to talk to any Committee member.
