Race report RR10 6&7 and Miles of mile race

RR10 Race 6&7 and Miles for Miles

We had 10 members running in the miles for miles event, we had a single team for this race. We completed the 10 laps of a mile in 1.10.38. Overall, we finished 16th out of the teams entered by the other clubs of the league. Southampton AC won the race which could be as they have to organise the next one that we might be back at the Southampton sports centre track next year.

Last week we had our race we organise and marshal at Itchen Valley. We would like to thank everyone who helped us in organising and marshalling this event without you helping these race could not happen.

The Results after last weeks race helped the team results and the individual results. The Men’s A Team are 3rd overall on 18 points we are only behind the joint 1st places clubs on 17, so could push those clubs for 1st position. The Ladies A team are 5th overall on 32 points. With 3 races left in the season it would be good to consolidate these positions for the rest of the season.

For the individual overall results the top Men are Dave H 2nd, Nick W 3rd, and Alex J 58th with Rob D and Lee C with 5 race done and needing one more to get into the top 20 in the overall results.   In the men’s age categories Dave H has won his age group well done.  with also Rob D in a good position in his category to win it if he completes another race to get to 6.

In the overall ladies results we have Tracy 6th, Mel F 20th and Sian A 31st. Also with Bex’s and Jo L in good positions to move into the top 10 if they complete 6 races. In the age categories Mel F is 1st in hers.

For the individual results you need to complete 6 races to be included in the overall results, they are based on your best 6 results over the 9 races that you can do. If you look on the results there is a percentage after your name. This percentage represents the number of runners that you finished in front of in the field, for example if you won the result you would have 100% meaning you finished ahead of everyone, so for myself with 9.7% means I finished in front of 9.7% of the field.

The next race is on 23rd July starting 7pm at university playing fields wide lane details for the race will be added when we get them. These races are open to all club members all our welcome all you need is a hedge end race top which you can order from our website (www.hedgeendrunningclub.com).

See you at the next Race
